Championships
The Championships module can be used to aggregate the results of different events which generally take place on different dates.
Concretely, a championship will have as sources a collection of event files managed with Wiclax. By applying configurable ranking rules, we will obtain an overall ranking of the championship which can itself be edited with Wiclax.
The Championships module can be opened from Wiclax, either through the start screen or the main menu, or by double-clicking on a championship file in the file explorer.

Championship data is saved as files with a .tph extension.
The name of the championship can be changed by clicking on the label at the top right of the window.
Participant merging

Merging participants, in other words identifying a participant as the same individual between different events, can be done on the basis of bib numbers, license numbers or first and last names. Or on any custom field, provided that it is present in each of the events.
The option of bib numbers will of course be reserved in case the competitors keep the same number through all events.
If you choose to work on name matching, the module will apply a certain tolerance regarding the accuracy of the data. That is to say, minimal differences in spelling or errors in entering dates of birth for example. When generating the final ranking, you will however be able to view the potential homonyms detected and decide on their fate - legitimate or not.
Computation rules
A set of options are available to define how the championship is calculated.
Main criteria
2 methods are available: ranking by allocation of points or by sum of times.
In the case of points, we can either:
enter allocation grids based on ranks, event by event
or rely on the point values awarded to competitors in the events themselves
Other options
Other options include:
the application of bonus points based on the number of participations
the rank to be taken into account in event results - overall, by gender, by categories or by level groups
the minimum number of participations to be classified
Multiple races
In case the original events consist of several races, it may be easier to constitute a championship for each of them.
Final ranking generation
The Ranking tab shows the final ranking grid.

Here you can choose to (re)Calculate it, and export it as a Wiclax event (.clax file).
Regeneration
The Calculate Ranking + Export function is first a shortcut for the case where the final ranking simply needs to be updated after adding a race or changing data.
It will be very useful later if you have edited the resulting Wiclax file and made changes that you do not want to lose. Like for example, setting up a team ranking calculated for the championship.
Provided that the previously generated file still exists, regeneration will only replace participant and results data.
