Nationalities and flags
Country files
The nationality built-in data field for a participant is not strongly constrained, i.e. you can feed it with any values. However it usually holds a 3 letters code representing the country. And a list of those countries is proposed for selection in the grids or in the participant entry form:

Selecting the country list
An event is bound to a determined country list, which you can select if needed on the event options window, Event data tab:

Choosing the right list as a referential has multiple purposes:
it helps with localization, as it provides country names in your local language. Since only 3 letter codes are stored as data.
sometimes it ensures some compliance with the sport body overseeing the competition. Some have their very own country codes for historical reasons, which can differ from the international (ISO) standards.
it makes the bridge between the 3 letter code and the flag pictures, using for this the 2 letter ISO standard code of each country.
Make your own country list
Country lists are simple text files stored on Wiclax install folder, in Programs (x86)/Wiclax/Ressources
They are all named on the pattern countries.XXX.txt, where XXX is a free tag to identify it. So it means you can freely duplicate an existing sample in the same folder to make it available for Wiclax.
The content format is quite simple: each row consists of the 3 letter code, the name and the 2 letter ISO code. Separated by tab characters.
Feel free to propose us your localized files if they are of common interest. We'll add them to the delivery so you won't have to care anymore of copying them when installing a new PC.
Flags
Flag pictures are stored as .png files, in local folder Programs (x86)/Wiclax/G-Live/public/flag
They're organized in a few subfolders to provide different suitable sizes. And they're identified by the 2 letter ISO code.
So if you need to provide specific flags for some reason, you need to make sure that the links are done accordingly:
the 3 letter country code gives a 2 letter code correspondence (through the current reference file)
there are some flag picture files named with the 2 letter code
On the web
Adding flag files as described above is alright to get them on display and on printout.
Now to get them as well on the web published results, an additional operation is required: using an FTP client the new files have to be uploaded in the equivalent online folders, where the G-Live app is currently implemented.
Note that in case you modified some existing pictures (instead of adding new ISO codes) you may have to redo this upload after an upgrade of the G-Live app on the hosting.
